STORY

The Alura typeface is based on the imprint of the book printing template of Die Neue Typographie (Jan Tschichold, 1928) and the size for bread text that it also served (Nová Typografie, 2022). The current version has undergone transformation to serve well in display sizes. The versatile and timeless shapes of the almost 100-year-old humanist grotesque have been expanded with marking cuts in all weights. Variable axes push the typeface further into the future and make it even more timeless. As for readability and unlimited usage possibilities, the expanded language support, as in all offered fonts, significantly enhances all the benefits of the typeface. The name of the font comes from the origin of the typeface which have various names in metal, one of them was Aurora - There I made a version with a bit of more light.

The wide-ranging use posibilities of the typeface serves any purpose and works in any size. In book small typesetting at 8pt, it will appear consistently on the page. Headlines (14) can be airy and delicate or full and bold, depending on the chosen thickness. In larger sizes around 60pt, the typeface starts to deliver a clear requied message.
